2012 has been a fantastic year for the British Youth Council,
and we've continued to go from strength to strength. Here is a

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award

BYC is one of 60 organisations to receive The Queen's
Award Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award, which recognises and
rewards excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in
the community.

November 2012
Vice-Chair victory at Children and Young People Now
Awards
In November BYC's Vice Chair Dara Farrell received
the Children and Young People Now 'Children's Achievement
Award'. The awards, now in their 7th year, are
described as the 'gold standard' in services
for children, young people and families.

Former BYC Chair shortlisted at Third Sector
Awards
In September, BYC's former Chair Liam Preston was
shortlisted for 'Charity Chair of the Year' at the annual
Third Sector Awards. The awards recognise the
outstanding work carried out by charities,
not-for-profit organisations and their partners.

BYC highly commended at
Charity Awards
In June BYC was highly commended in the Children and Youth
category of the 2012 Charity Awards, meaning that we
were judged to be one of the four best charities for
children and young people in the country.
